As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all posters. All posters that is, except the one's that disagree with you. Tear THEM a new asshole. Post your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have their own internet accounts, you can't avoid them. Learn to live with them, they WILL NOT go away. Avoid loud and aggressive posters, they are vexations to the spirit. Vexations alright, but a whole lot of fucking fun too. Hell, they ARE the party. If you compare yourself with other posters, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser posters than yourself. In other words, no matter how funny, insightful, or brilliant YOU think your post is, SOMEONE is bound to say, "YOU SUCK!" Enjoy your posting achievements as well as your posting plans. The MESSAGE BOARD moves fast. Move with it. Remember the 3 rules to avoid stress on the MESSAGE BOARD: 1. Don't sweat the small stuff. 2. It's ALL small stuff. 3. If you can't fight and you can't flee, FLOW. Go with the flow. Keep interested in your own posts, however humble; they are a real possession in the changing fortune of time and space on the MESSAGE BOARD. And if you fucked up a post, go back and edit it, it's ok. No shame in being an edit-pussy. Exercise ration in your posting affairs, for the MESSAGE BOARD world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many posters strive for high ideals, and those posters usually get the shit kicked out of themselves for posting such high falutin ideals. Be yourself. Or jump in with both feet and get a sack full of nics. If you can keep in character for each of them without severe brain damage, more power to you, you'll be an assett to the MESSAGE BOARD. Especially, do not feign affection. There are those who will come down on you with the swiftness and heavyness of god's own hand for doing so. But hey FUCK 'EM!! A love fest feels good every once and a while. Go fer it. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. And if you haven't started smoking grass, you better start in a hurry. Being stoned while on this MESSAGE BOARD will lengthen your time here because if you are stoned, you can't take any of this shit seriously. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering things of youth. Cherise the youthfull exhuberince you first brought to the MESSAGE BOARD, wear the thickest of skins while posting and you'll last a long time. Time, ideas, and threads move fast here, it's a lot like the dog/human year thing. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. Null sets/eggs/double 'o' and the inevitable thread killer happen to everyone. Some more than others. We keep track and we'll let you know where you stand. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and lonliness. If you are afraid, tired, lonely and imagining things, this would be a good time to get on the MESSAGE BOARD. Jump in. Share.We are listening. We are here for you. (hehehe) Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. If you are going to be gentle with yourself, do us all a favor and don't do it while you are online. It's a bitch to type one handed AND most of us can see what you're doing anyways, so GET YOUR HAND AWAY FROM THERE ALREADY! You are a child of the MESSAGE BOARD, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. Unless of course you are one of those annoying bumper people, spammer, or your only reason for existence is to come here and fuck with the board. Then you DO NOT have a right to be here. As a matter of fact, you don't even have the right to breath the same air as the rest of us. Why don't you do humanity a favor, get in your car and drive over your head. Thank you. And whether or not it is clear to you, the MESSAGE BOARD is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be (Jesus with tits, Budda with a pussy, whatever), and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of the MESSAGE BOARD, keep peace with your soul. With all its shame, drudgery, broken dreams and the really, really, really funny mofo's that hang here, it is still a beautiful MESSAGE BOARD. |
