New Noir Fiction -- "Hobietopian Heat"

:: Scene Opens With Sultry Music ::

View through a hazy flame... the shape of a body.

Billowing smoke. Sirens.

:: Cut to a shot of a man's bare back ::

He's watching the fire from a distance.

He turns around. It's Sirjonsnow .

A woman behind him talks about the heat, how she's started sweating after just getting out of the shower. She asks, "Still burning?"
:: Close up of her face :: -- Gobbie .

Sirjonsnow - "I think it might have been torched by one of my clients."

Gobbie - "You done with me?"

Sirjonsnow - "My history is burning up out there."

Gobbie - "I'm just getting into my uniform here."

He goes over to her. She laughs.

:: Cut to a scene in a courtroom ::

Judge Jox , prominent 25th District Criminal Court judge, is making a statement about toilets, that Sirjon's client is a fraud and suggesting that Sirjon isn't very competent. Judge Jox sets up a deal to resolve the case. Meekly, Sirjon goes along with it.

Judge Jox admonishes him - "If you ever appear in my court again, make sure you have a better defense or a better class of client."

Sirjon, taking up Judge Jox's offer, leans over and whispers to his client Alka Bong .

:: A noisy oscillating fan runs ominously in the background. ::

:: Cut to Next Scene ::

Sirjon sits in a bar with the Assistant District Attorney, Sierra Hotel , who openly tells Sirjon that he now uses Sirjon's incompetence as a weapon. He says this partly as a joke, but its suggestive that Sirjon is not among the swift, mentally.

DA Sierra Hotel also comments that the toilet case was not the 'quick score' Sirjon's been looking for.

:: Next Scene ::

Sirjon is at another bar. Something reflecting in the huge plate glass window of the bar catches his eye. He goes out for a walk, toward where a band plays on an outdoor plaza. A sultry blonde, Gobbie, gets up from a seat and passes by Sirjon. It seems utterly casual. He follows her.

Sirjon tries to make small talk and she responds, "I'm a married woman."

Sirjon - "Meaning what?" They banter about her marriage, then Gobbie says, "You're not too smart, are you? I like that in a man." Now, if Sirjon were smart, he would turn around and run. But he doesn't. He only sees what he wants, a chance to make it with a pretty woman. Gobbie mentions that her husband only comes up on weekends.

Sirjon - "I'm liking him better all the time." They continue making idle chit-chat. On a hunch, Sirjon guesses where she lives, Hobietopia , an upper class neighborhood. Full of colonial brick houses and perpetually ringing windchimes.

Gobbie - "How'd you guess?"

Sirjon - "You look well tended."

What Sirjon doesn't realize, of course, is that Gobbie tends herself.

They lean against a metal railing near a grassy area and talk about the heat. Gobbie spills part of her vanilla milkshake on her dress.

Sirjon - "Here, let me wipe if off."

Gobbie - "You don't want to lick it?"

Sirjon is hooked now. He goes into a public bathroom to get Gobbie a damp paper towel. There's a boy, Little Punk , shyly smoking a cigarette next to a urinal.

When Sirjon returns to the railing where he left Gobbie, he finds only her coat; she is gone.

:: Cut to next day ::

Sirjon drives out to Gobbie's house.

:: Cut to a scene of Sirjon lying thoughtfully in bed while a woman in a nurse's uniform dresses hurriedly in the background ::

Sirjon returns to the Hobietopian lounge. He sees something. It's Gobbie at the bar. He joins her, and they talk again about the heat and 'hot air.'

They shake hands. She runs a higher than normal body temperature.

Gobbie - "How'd you find me, Sirjon?"

Sirjon - "This is the only joint in Hobietopia."

Gobbie - "You shouldn't have come. You're going to be disappointed." Gobbie talks about the men she's rejected, that she doesn't try to attract them. It just happens.

Sirjon - "Maybe you shouldn't wear that body."

Gobbie talks on, about being unhappy in life. Sirjon commiserates and talks about life at times seeming to rain shit. Gobbie gets ready to leave and turns down Sirjon's request to accompany her; but Sirjon then suggests he only wants to listen to the chimes at her house. She agrees that he can accompany her, but she asks that they leave the bar separately, so people won't think of them as a couple in case she comes there with her husband.

Sirjon - "You've been pretty friendly." Gobbie suddenly slaps Sirjon and says, "Now leave me alone." She does this so anyone watching them together will think she's rejected Sirjon.

:: Next Scene, Sirjon follows Gobbie to her expensive home ::

Gobbie gets out of her car, flashing him some thigh. She unlocks the front door, glances over her shoulder coyly at Sirjon. Sirjon enters the house with her as the windchimes sound in the distance. Sirjon pauses to listen, eyes closed. Gobbie leaves him and goes up a staircase. Sirjon follows. They go on to a balcony where the chimes tinkle. It's clear she's already rung his chimes. He looks out into the distance and asks her about a boathouse on the water, what's in it. She says an old rowboat is in it. Sirjon touches her face. She doesn't react, then turns away.

Gobbie - "I think you should go now." Somewhat irritated by the mixed signals, Sirjon is ready to leave -- disappointed, but ready to leave -- when suddenly she tells him she's 'weak' and kisses him. Then pushes him away. Dejected, he goes downstairs and out to his car, but hesitates, doesn't get in. The camera pulls into his face as he listens to the chimes again. What will he do? As the music swells, he returns to the house. Looking up in a window, he sees Gobbie. She looks back at him with longing. Sirjon tries the door. It's locked. He goes around the back, to a patio window. Gobbie's there! She offers him another sultry look.

He picks up a chair and throws it through the patio door and enters. They embrace passionately. He grabs Gobbie. They embrace and kiss and we see their consuming passion. He gropes her, puts his hand under her skirt, lifts her skirt. She lays on the floor and he removes her panties. They make hungry, passionate love.

:: Cut to later than night in bed as they lie together ::

The chimes echo throughout the house. This time she gropes him, suggesting another round of intimacy.

~~End Act One~~

More Fiction Noir - Hobietopian Heat, Act II

:: Cut to Sirjon entering his office ::

He has a client waiting for him, a Mrs Please Passthepork , a woman with a medical problem. He charms her and is happy that she goes for his fake charm. Snagged another client, no toilets involved here!

:: Fade Out ::

We now see Sirjon, naked, looking out a window. Gobbie, also naked, approaches. She gropes him hungrily. Sirjon asks for a moment to recharge.

Gobbie - "I've never wanted it this way before." They return to the bed.

:: Cut to Sirjon returning something to a medicine cabinet ::

Gobbie methodically strips the bed. She asks Sirjon to promise that he'll tell no one about their affair; that she's a married woman and needs to be careful.

:: Cut to Sirjon meeting with the assistant DA Sierra Hotel again in the café ::
Sierra Hotel hasn't seen Sirjon for a month. A detective, CrayZ Horse , sits with them. They're all old friends and the banter flows easily. The assistant DA wants Sirjon to tell him some erotic stories about what he's 'been up to' lately, just like in the good old days. Sirjon holds back, which surprises Sierra Hotel. An awkward silence ensues until CrayZ Horse speaks.

CrayZ Horse - "When it gets hot, people try to kill each other." He explains why. The damn heat. Heat leads people to think they can break all rules. He toys with the gun in his shoulder holster.

:: Cut to Gobbie's place and the chimes tinkling in the breeze ::
Then the sounds of intimacy and Gobbie having sex with someone. She's being taken from behind. Moans. Groans. They fall across the bed, satisfied.

Later, they cool off in a cold tub of water. Gobbie tells Sirjon her husband is returning, that he's mean and weak. Sirjon comforts her.

:: Cut to Sirjon trying to cool off in his own bed ::
He's clearly thinking about Gobbie.

:: Cut to Sirjon walking up to a blonde standing on a gazebo outside Gobbie's house ::
Her back is to him ::

Sirjon - "Hey, Lady, want to fuck?"

The woman turns around. It's not Gobbie! She smiles, like she's considering the idea. She and Sirjon talk for a moment. Gobbie arrives as the woman, ColbsterBrandOCheese , says, "You must be looking for the lady of the house," she smiles. Colbster assures Gobbie that Sirjon was, indeed, making her feel very welcome.

It comes out that Colbster's just passing through, about to embark on a nice long vacation. It's clear she knows Gobbie well.

Gobbie - "We go way back. Colbster is like a sister to me. She wants me to be happy."

:: Cut to a foggy balcony ::
Sirjon and Gobbie, their heads leaning intimately close. Gobbie's telling him about her husband's will and his investments, but she doesn't have many details. "It scares me to talk about these things."

Sirjon - "What frightens you?"

Gobbie - "When I think about it, I wish he'd die... it's horrible and it's ugly but it's what I want." Sirjon jokingly agrees that he's been thinking the same thing. Gobbie asks him not to talk about it because, "talk is dangerous...it makes things real."

Sirjon - "There's no reason to think he's going to die... It's not going to just happen to make things nice for us."

Sirjon then talks to Gobbie about her divorcing Everlasting , but she says she signed a pre-nuptial agreement that leaves her with little money. She asks for the 'truth' about whether that would matter to Sirjon.
Sirjon - "The truth... I wish you were going to be loaded. But does it matter? No, no."

Gobbie - "God, you make me happy."

Gobbie then gives Sirjon a hat for good luck, referring back to his earlier talk about life raining 'shit' at times, and that she'll protect him from that. Sirjon happily puts it on.

:: Cut to Gobbie walking out the front entrance of her house ::
Her husband, Everlasting, is in the car with a 'present,' a young niece, Rogue McAlister . Gobbie feigns she's happy to see Rogue.

:: Cut to Sirjon with his present, the hat, tossing it onto a coat rack ::

:: Cut to Gobbie being surprised by Sirjon on a verandah ::
Soon they are nude and locked in a passionate embrace. Rogue comes out and sees Sirjon and Gobbie. She runs off to upstairs, to bed.

:: Cut to Gobbie seeing Rogue off ::
Gobbie's eyes narrow, clearly thinking about the fact that Rogue saw Sirjon. For now, it appears she's concerned about her marriage. For now.

:: Cut to Sirjon walking along a Hobietopian street ::
He enters a restaurant and sees Gobbie. Then Everlasting, Gobbie's husband, appears. Gobbie introduces them. Everlasting invites Sirjon to eat with them. Everlasting tells Sirjon that he went to Columbia. Sirjon replies that he went to Hobietopia State University, HSU. Everlasting is clearly on a higher level than Sirjon.

Gobbie fidgets. Sirjon asks Everlasting about his work. Everlasting replies that he is in investments, then makes a cutting remark about Gobbie not understanding investments. Gobbie leaves the table. Noticing how Sirjon has been giving Gobbie the eye, Everlasting talks ominously about how he'd kill any man who was seeing his wife. He talks about the man Gobbie was with when he met her, that the man didn't know the bottom line; that the man wanted to get rich quick. Everlasting talks about how the man wasn't ready to do 'whatever was necessary' to accomplish that.

:: Cut to Sirjon jogging ::
He happens to be running by a piece of property owned by Everlasting and a few others: Jimmy The Hand & Associates, Yurassoraholeintheground Enterprises. It's a rundown piece of property on the Hobietopian beach front.

~~End Act II~~

Hobietopian Heat, Act III - The Fiction Noir Continues...

:: Cut to Sirjon entering his office ::
He pauses, obviously startled. Gobbie's in his office. Sirjon's surprised. Gobbie rushes to him, asks Sirjon to hold her.

Gobbie - "Oh, God, I love you." They embrace, but he pushes her away quickly and shuts the door. Now it's Sirjon that doesn't want to be seen with Gobbie, because he's afraid of Everlasting. He makes a point that Gobbie should never call on the phone because of phone records.

Gobbie - "Why?"

Eyes narrowed, barely audible Sirjon says - "Because we're going to kill him." Pause. "It's what you wanted, isn't it?" He looks at her; a slow smile spreads across her face.

Sirjon - "I think I know how."

Gobbie - "It's real, then?"

Sirjon - "It's real, all right. If we're not careful it's going to be the last real thing we do."

:: Cut to a police car turning a corner ::
The camera pulls in to show Sirjon hiding behind a garbage container. He goes into the old building he looked at from the beach and looks around cautiously with a flashlight.

**FADE**
:: Cut to Gobbie, in dark sunglasses, talking with Sirjon inside of a car. She wonders if they could rewrite Everlasting's will before his death, that Sirjon could do that as a lawyer.

Sirjon - "No, forget it. Nothing strange can happen in his life right now. We're not going to get greedy... If we do, we'll get burned."

Gobbie - "You're right, Darling, I know you're right." Gobbie gets out of the car.

:: Cut to Sirjon talking with a former client in a seedy Sucksville apartment ::
Hosemedown is helping him build a fire bomb. Hosemedown tells Sirjon that the device will leave traces. Sirjon says he doesn't care. Hosemedown tells Sirjon he's 'not a genius' and shouldn't do the job. Hosemedown offers to do the job for him, for the right price of course. Sirjon doesn't answer immeidately.

{{VOICE OVER, a la Bogart - BUT, it's Bernie Weintraub }} Everywhere Sirjon goes, he has people offering him good advice. Sirjon ignores it all. He wants Gobbie, he wants the money; he's blind to the pitfalls here. It's his nature to be blind. You might even say he's caught up in the heat of the moment…

:: Cut to Sirjon back in Sucksville ::
He's looking at some land, at a car rental. He's setting up his alibi for where he is at the time of Everlasting's death. Returning to his car, he sees a clown drive past. Dcass Clown About Town is on a magnetic sign stuck to the side of the clown's run down Volkswagen. Sirjon smiles. A bizarre series of giggles escapes his lips. Does he wonder if he's a clown?

:: Cut to a clock that reads 1:15 a.m. ::
Everlasting wakes up. Gobbie wakes with a start and asks him to come back to bed, suggesting intimacy. Playfully, she pounces on top of him.

We see Sirjon driving a car.

Gobbie and Everlasting, in bed together. Everlasting - "What, you trying to kill me?" as a joke about her wanting sex. She pulls him closer. They kiss. He pushes her off abruptly and reaches into the nightstand, puts on a pair of glasses and springs from the bed. He's also holding a gun Gobbie has never seen before.
Everlasting - "I heard a noise, downstairs." He goes to investigate. Everlasting peeks around the corner, comes slowly down the stairs. The moment is quiet, dramatic, tense. Everlasting looks around; hears a footstep. Everlasting turns on a light.

Gobbie appears on the landing and shouts, "He has a gun!"

Sirjon appears and attacks Everlasting with a wooden axe handle. A shot is fired, the men fight, and Sirjon clubs Everlasting.

:: Cut to Sirjon quickly loading Everlasting into a car in the fog ::
Sirjon drives through the fog.
{{Bernie Weintraub VOICE OVER}} It's his literal situation, an impenetrable fog.
Sirjon almost gets into two accidents on the road.
{{Bernie Weintraub VOICE OVER}} He's a traveling accident that's already happened. He might be better off if he was caught at this point.

He enters the run down building on the beach. He splashes gas about, then brings in Everlasting's body. He sets the pre-made device, kindly provided by Hosemedown, to go off, then drops a heavy, heavy timber (premeditated - chopped nearly in two with an axe on a previous visit) onto Everlasting's body.

:: Cut to Sirjon getting into a car with Gobbie ::
Moments later, a police car with flashing lights goes past. They sit quietly for a minute. Sirjon is pale and his eyes dart furtively about.

Sirjon, "I'm running late." He looks at her, fear in his eyes, sweat dripping from his forehead. "We can't talk for a long time now." He opens the door, gets out. He gets into his car and looks at himself in the rear view mirror for a moment. We see flames begin to flicker in the reflection of the rear view mirror. He starts the car and begins to drive off.

The device detonates and the building erupts in flames. Gobbie, sitting quietly in her Mercedes, listens to the first siren wailing in the distance. She drives off slowly, looking continually at the flames in her rear view mirror. She applies fresh lipstick, fusses with her hair, and smiles.

:: Cut to a lawyer from Sucksville calling Sirjon at his office ::
The lawyer, a real bad ass known in legal-eagle circles as GBIAD represents Everlasting's estate. GBIAD lets Sirjon know Gobbie has submitted a new will, and there's a problem with the work Sirjon did on it. He wants to discuss the problem. In person.

Sirjon now knows that Gobbie lied about the will. Sirjon can feel the noose begin to tighten around his neck. GBIAD lets Sirjon know that Gobbie will be at the meeting about the will. GBIAD abruptly hangs up.

Sirjon listens to the dial tone, obviously in shock. Turning to his faithful secretary, BrownIdGirl , Sirjon asks her to look up something in the files.

:: Close up on the hat Gobbie gave him ::
{{Bernie Weintraub VOICE OVER}} That rainstorm Sirjon fears has begun, and he failed to listen to the many forecasts from those who predicted it.

~~End Act III~~

Hobietopian Heat, The Finale

OK, so I'm gonna be out of the office tomorrow stuck in dumbass meetings. So, for those of you just dying to know what happens next, here it is. The last 2 chapters in one fell swoop. Enjoy.

:: Pulls her fedora down low over her eyes ::

:: Cinches in her trenchcoat ::

:: Walks off into the fog ::

Doors open to the meeting with the other lawyers.
Sirjon sees Gobbie. Their eyes meet.
There will be an inquiry into the death.

GBIAD talks about the new will. The will divides the estate in two parts between Rogue , Everlasting's niece by his sister Scary Sherry , and Gobbie. GBIAD suggests there is a problem, that Sirjon made a mistake in redoing the will. It turns out that Judge Jox doesn't like Sirjon's work and is refusing to validate it. So, it seems, Everlasting has died intestate. In Hobietopiaville, that means the spouse inherits everything, although as GIBAD admonishes "it was clearly not your husband's intention. He intended for Rogue to benefit as well."

:: Cut to Gobbie and Sirjon outside ::
She continues to play Sirjon, asking him to come to the house that night, even though he is wondering now about her intentions. However, Sirjon is semi-forced to go along with what Gobbie wants at this point. And Gobbie makes it a bitter pill, easy to swallow.

:: Cut to Sirjon returning home ::
The assistant DA and CrayZ Horse are waiting. Detective CrayZ Horse tells Sirjon that Gobbie is poison. They talk about the murder. CrayZ Horse asks about Gobbie's 'friend,' Colbster, who witnessed the signing of the new will. Seems there's no record of a passport for her leaving the country to go on that long vacation Gobbie had told Sirjon about.

Assistant DA Sierra Hotel warns Sirjon to stay away from Gobbie. "Friend, she's bad news. Hot body like that, easy on the eyes. Can mess up a mans' mind."

Sirjon - "I'm sorry, guys, I just can't do that. She's different. Special. Not like the others."

CrayZ Horse - "Sirjon, you've messed up before and you'll mess up again, it's your nature. We've stuck by you before, but we're talkin' major league trouble here, buddy." He lights a cigarette; smoke curls up and obscures his eyes.

:: Cut to Gobbie and Sirjon laying in her bed ::
She's talking about her life, some earlier problems. She explains how she learned from a Cunning Lawyer about how to make a will invalid. She tells Sirjon, "I'm greedy, like you said. I wanted us to have it all." Then she tells Sirjon she loves him and that in a little while they'll either have the money or not. Regardless of the outcome, they'll have each other. Gobbie - "It's really what you wanted, isn't it?"

:: Cut to ADA Sierra Hotels' office ::
CrayZ Horse and Sierra Hotel question Sirjon some more about the murder, where he was, who he might have seen, talked to. Dates. Times.

Assistant DA Sierra Hotel interrupts - "Gobstopper always wore glasses. Did you know that? He couldn't see ten feet past his nose without 'em." He tells him the glasses weren't found at the scene of the death. Maybe he was killed somewhere else and brought there in a car.

Sirjon looks around the room, bemused.
Sirjon - "Okay guys, I get it. Let me guess. You want me to be a stoolie, an 'undercover' agent for you guys with Gobbie." Sierra Hotel and CrayZ Horse exchange heavy glances.

CrayZ Horse then springs a shocker on Sirjon. It seems that Everlasting's niece, Rogue, saw Gobbie with someone one night. Tension builds as they look at one another.

Sirjon - "Am I being charged here?"

CrazyZ Horse - "No. Nope. You're free to go, anytime."

Sierra Hotel tells Sirjon that he can leave out the back way and not see the niece, waiting in the foyer with her mother, Scary Sherry. Sirjon hesitates momentarily, then goes out the front door right past Rogue. Sherry glowers at him maliciously. "Rat bastard," she mumbles. A single tear rolls down her cheek.
But Sirjon knows that refusing to face Rogue would further incriminate him. When Sirjon leaves, Rogue looks at her mother, questioningly.

:: Cut to Sirjon with Sierra Hotel, outside the building ::
Sierra Hotel makes a crude joke about what Rogue saw that night, the man's penis, that's what she remembers. He also makes a joke about Rogue saying the man had greasy hair, slicked back. Sirjon walks off, saying nothing. Sierra Hotel lights a cigarette, inhales deeply, and watches Sirjon's retreat.

:: Cut to Sirjon arguing heatedly with Gobbie ::
He's accusing Gobbie of having done something with Everlasting's glasses. Gobbie is concerned because Sirjon is accusing her of setting him up. She begins to distract him, telling him the money from the estate should come through any day now.

Gobbie - "All we have is each other."

~~End Act IV~~

:: Cut to CrayZ Horse driving a black sedan ::
He passes a sign that reads, Now entering Sucksville. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. CrayZ Horse begins to follow Sirjon's path in Sucksville.

:: Cut to DA Sierra Hotel sitting in a strip club ::
Sirjon sits down beside him, saying he knows CrayZ Horse is looking for him, that he's going to go over to Sucksville before things get out of hand. Sierra Hotel tells Sirjon that Everlasting was a bad guy and he really doesn't care who killed him, but "CrayZ's not like that." That CrayZ's unhappy, because he now suspects Sirjon had something to do with Everlasting's death. Sierra Hotel - "He thinks you need help. Someone's putting you into deep trouble, my friend."

{{Bernie Weintraub VOICE OVER}} That someone called Sirjon's hotel room that night in Sucksville, repeatedly talking to the desk clerk, proving that he wasn't there. That someone is calling and trying to give the police Everlasting's glasses, which would have Sirjon's fingerprints on them from their fight…

Sirjon drives to Sucksville, pensive and thoughtful, his foot heavy on the gas pedal of his old Monte Carlo. Smoke bellows from the exhaust as he depresses the pedal harder, his eyes intent on the road ahead of him. Ripples of heat rise from the roadway, caught in the headlights as dusk begins to fall.

:: Cut to Sirjon sitting at a seedy diner, eating a greasy hamburger ::
A man approaches. Cunning Lawyer . He knows Sirjon from being involved in suing him for incompetence in a previous case. He mentions Gobbie, that he met her at a party. That she wanted to know all about lawyers. Sirjon demands to know if he told Gobbie about the incompetence case. He admits he did.

:: Cut to Sirjon entering his office ::
He tells his secretary, BrownIdGirl, he took his phone off the hook and that he's not to be disturbed. She leans in close, rubs his shoulders, and tells him Hosemedown wants to talk to him. Sirjon picks up the phone. BrownIdGirl exits his office, closing the door behind her.

:: Cut to Hosemedown talking to Sirjon on the phone ::
Hosmedown - "I have a new lawyer. " Then he drops a bombshell. He tells Sirjon that Gobbie has contacted him personally, that she asked for his help to set up another explosion. Then he lets Sirjon know the police are asking him about the fire.

:: Cut to Sirjon on the phone ::
Ringing on the other end; no answer.

BrownIdGirl takes a call from Gobbie, knocks on Sirjon's door and announces the call. Sirjon hesitantly picks up the phone. Gobbie tells him that she's in Sucksville, that things will be all right, she has the money. She tells him she got the glasses back from the maid Mrs Whipple , that they'll be left in the boat house, and that he should go get them as soon as he can.

Gobbie - "We've made it." She hangs up. Sirjon listens to the dial tone for a moment.

:: Cut to Sirjon approaching the boathouse ::
He goes up to the door, reaches for the door knob, pauses, then walks away nervously. He looks at the door, then looks through a hazy window. He can see a wire.

:: Cut to ADA Sierra Hotel and CrayZ Horse in a sedan outside of Sirjon's house ::
CrayZ Horse takes out a gun.

CrayZ Horse - "Want me to go get him?"

Sirjon paces near the boathouse, then enters cautiously. He opens a closet. He takes out a gun.

:: Cut back to Sirjon's house ::
CrayZ Horse comes up onto the porch of Sirjon's house, knocks. The house is dark.

:: Cut to Sirjon, waiting in the dark gazebo at Gobbie's ::

:: Cut to Sierra Hotel in the sedan, waiting at a raised bridge ::
He dabs sweat off his face with a handkerchief.

Sirjon looks at the time, 10:15. He hears Gobbie's car drive up, watches her get out of the car. She looks around. Gobbie walks by the gazebo and Sirjon whispers to her. She walks slowly towards him.

Gobbie - "It's all ours now, Darling... It's all over."

She stops short, seeing Sirjon's gun, and asks him what it means.

They argue about the glasses. He knows she's lied, set him up. Used him like yesterday's newspaper.

Gobbie - "I could never do anything to hurt you. I love you. This is what we wanted. We can be together now."

Sirjon - "Keep talking. Experience shows I can be convinced of anything."

Gobbie asks him what she could do to prove her love. As always, she seems prepared for anything. Sirjon tells her she can do that by going to get the glasses in the boathouse.

CrayZ Horse and a policeman drive up slowly with headlights out. CrayZ sees Sirjon and Gobbie in the distance, standing in the gazebo.

Gobbie - "Alright. I'll go. I'll go and look for them."

Gobbie turns and walks away, then turns back and looks over her shoulder.
Gobbie - "No matter what you think, I do love you." Sirjon watches her walk to the boathouse while CrayZ Horse watches from the bushes. Gobbie reaches for the door.

:: Close in on Sirjon's face as he struggles with emotion ::
He drops the gun and starts to run forward, calling out, "Wait! Gobbie!"

Suddenly, a fireball erupts.

Sirjon falls, then runs toward the boathouse while CrayZ Horse watches, the flames reflecting in his eyes. {{Bernie Weintraub VOICE OVER}} It seems she appears to have proved her love for Sirjon while guaranteeing he'd be convicted of murder in one fell stroke.

~~End Act V~~

:: Cut to Sirjon in a bunk in a cell at dismal Hobietopiaville Prison ::
We see him from above, lying in bed, seemingly asleep.

:: Pull into his face as his eyes suddenly open ::
"She's alive!"

:: Cut to Sirjon talking to CrayZ Horse ::
He's telling her that the body found in the boathouse was probably Colbster, that Gobbie set this up. CrayZ Horse counters that they matched her teeth to the corpse found in the boathouse.

Sirjon - "You're not listening to me!" He explains how Gobbie set this up even before she married Everlasting, that she was really someone else. That Colbster was probably blackmailing Gobbie, who then figured out a way to get rid of both Sirjon and Colbster at the boathouse.

Sirjon - "Gobbie killed this other girl and put her body in the boathouse. It was so perfect and so clean. You find two bodies, two killers dead. Case closed. You can't find the money, can you, CrayZ Horse? That should tell you something."

CrayZ Horse still disagrees, but Sirjon counters that Gobbie was the kind of person "Who could do what was necessary. Whatever was necessary."

:: Cut to a mail cart coming down the cell block ::
Sirjon gets an envelope from Hobietopiaville High School, where he believes Gobbie went to school. He searches and finds the picture of Gobbie Gobstopper. It is not the Gobbie he knew, but a picture of a young Colbster. He then looks up the picture of Colbster BrandOCheese.

:: The camera slowly pulls up to reveal…a young Gobbie ::

:: Cut to Gobbie reclining on a tropical beach ::
Wearing dark sunglasses and a skimpy bikini. Stretched back in a chaise lounge. Her body darkly tanned and oiled. Perspiration beads between her breasts.

A man sits up in the chair beside her and says, "Man, is it hot!"

Gobbie - "Yes. It is."

**FADE TO BLACK**
